SHREWSBURY – The Shrewsbury Historical Society congratulates the winners of its Shrewsbury History Award as well as its Shrewsbury Historical Society Restoration and Preservation Award.

The History Prize is awarded annually to an individual who demonstrates exceptional leadership, service and interest in the history of the city. This year it was introduced to Lauren Finacom, who designs and publishes the Society’s newsletter, has created a school visits program and acts as the Society’s Assistant Curator.

The Restoration and Preservation Award honors an individual or organization who has completed a restoration that is an enduring example of historic Shrewsbury architecture. It went to Joseph McDonald and Christine Cyzander this year for their recent restoration work at the Dr Augustus Brigham House on Grafton Street.
