The Grand Prairie Quilt Society met on Wednesday October 13 at B & J’s Country Store in Roe with nine members in attendance. The group welcomed a new member and anniversary vows were extended for the month leading up to the September minutes and treasurer’s report.

Members were reminded to continue making baby items for the Hope of the Delta Center and during Show and Share, the owner of B & J’s Country Store showed off several of her mother’s quilts, many of which were museum quality and had won ribbons in the Texas quilt. shows. The members also shared their projects, including ladybug pillow cases, a pillowcase dress, custom seam rippers with turned wooden handles and a Halloween-themed Afghan granny.

Members of the company enjoyed a pulled pork sandwich with fries and a drink for lunch and afterwards took in all the interesting decor inside the B&J store.

The Grand Prairie Quilt Society will hold its next meeting, which will be a Sit n ‘Sew on Wednesday, November 10, in the Communion Hall of the First Christian Church in Stuttgart. Anyone interested in joining the group is invited to bring their project and lunch.
