Manager calls Spurs man’s performance on loan this season ‘outstanding’ – Spurs Web
Udinese boss Andrea Sottil has spoken in glowing terms about the performances Tottenham loanee Destiny Udogie has delivered so far this season.
Tottenham have snapped up Udogie following his impressive breakthrough season at Udinese in 2021/22 and have loaned the 19-year-old to the Serie A club for the rest of the campaign.
fabrice romano revealed on Monday that the transfer fee agreed between the two clubs for the left-back could stand at €25m (£21.4m), including add-ons.
The reporter added that Spurs were keen to land the youngster at an “economical” price this summer as they believed there would be a lot more competition for his signature twelve months from now.
Considering how Udogie has started the season, the deal certainly looks like a bargain, with the teenager having scored twice in four Serie A games so far this season (transfer market).
The on-loan Spurs man opened the scoring for Udinese in their 4-0 thrashing of Roma on Sunday, with Sottil suitably impressed at left-back.
He said Tutomercatoweb: “Udogie makes extraordinary matches, he has the ability to play, restart and turn like few others. When this team is precise and fast, it hurts.
Boosts web opinion
Based on how he started the season, it looks like Udogie gained confidence that a club like Tottenham decided to sign him. While it is still in its infancy, this transfer has the makings of another masterstroke from Fabio Paratici.
