Genealogical Society Marks Family History Month with Open House and Art Exhibition | Homes and Lifestyle

October is Family History Month, and the Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society invites community members to a free open house and student art exhibit, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 3 at Sahyun Library, 316 Castillo St., Santa Barbara.

Society volunteers will organize library tours, help visitors with map and society cousins ​​activity, family tree making station, printing your family tree from FamilySearch.org, and help with genealogical research.

The company will feature a Family Matters student art exhibit featuring artwork created by local students showcasing family members they couldn’t see during the pandemic. The company will also present the Santa Barbara African American Live, Culture, and Contributions exhibit, which celebrates the heritage of local African Americans and their contributions to the Santa Barbara community.
