The Erie Humane Society brought together local shelters for the second annual Adopt-A-Palooza.
Here’s more information on this tail-wagging event.
There were wagging tails and belly rubs all around this event.
The executive director of the Erie Humane Society has said she wants to make Adopt-A-Palooza an annual event to try to ensure that all rescue dogs have the chance to find their permanent home.
Adoptable dogs from four local shelters have come together for the second annual Adopt-A-Palooza.
“Great opportunity to not only showcase our shelter, but once again to have other amazing rescues. So we have Because You Care, Happy Bark, Hope Today come out and bring their pets, introduce them and offer adoptions for them, ”said Nicole Leone, Executive Director of the Erie Humane Society.
Leone said it gives the community a chance to see all the shelters come together to help the rescue dogs find their homes.
“We are all here to make sure the orphaned and needy animals in our community, and I know some of us are saving from the south and high mortality shelters because we are a refuge without killing and we want to see the animals life, ”Leone said.
For local animal shelters that do not have a facility, this gives more visibility to their adoptable dogs.
“” Anyone can see kinds of personalities in person. They can see how adorable they are in person and how well they interact with other animals. So that gives them a feel for animals, ”said Carrie Johnson, fundraising coordinator for Hope Animal Rescue.
“It’s essential because we don’t have a physical location where people can enter. Instead, we make appointments to meet in foster homes. So bringing them out where you can meet four, five, six or seven dogs at a time is really a benefit for us and the dogs in our care, ”said Eric Pollock, Founder and Executive Director of Happy Bark .
The Autism Society and Mental Health Association were in attendance for the Country Fair’s Pump for Charity event that is currently taking place.
Here are the websites to adopt any animal from any of the shelters that participated in today’s event.
