Creative Art Society Presents the Fall Arts Festival Exhibition and Sale at Wyandotte – The News Herald
The Fall Festival of Performing Arts and Selling Arts is entering its 17th year when it kicks off on October 1, 6 to 9 p.m., with an opening reception and awards program. The event will take place at the Downriver Council for the Arts, 81 Chestnut Street, Wyandotte, and is presented by the Creative Art Society.
More than 60 artists will exhibit their works there. The juror will be Candace Law, artist and teacher, Color Ink Studio. She is an award-winning Encaustic mixed media artist. The honorary president will be Kelly Stec, pro tempore mayor of the Wyandotte municipal council. Each medium will be represented – sculpture, ceramics, painting, photography, collage, mixed media, jewelry and glass. There are Fine Art entries and an added bonus of unframed and smaller works. During the opening, the artists will be on hand to discuss their work.
The show and sale are free to the public and will take place from October 1 to 21. The show is open Tuesday from 9 am to 8 pm; Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday 9 am to 2:30 pm; open only on Sundays October 2 and 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Artist demonstrations will take place on October 2 and 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
