Clearfield Choral Society to present concert | News, Sports, Jobs
After nearly twenty-four months of silence, the Clearfield Choral Society is back and ready to share the joy of singing with the community once again.
“A festival of lessons and songs” modeled on the service rendered by King’s College Cambridge every Christmas Eve, was a way people could come together during World War I in the UK to celebrate the Christmas season with hope and joy. He brought a much needed message of comfort and unity, a message that carries the same need for us today. Beautiful Christmas carols, interspersed with inspiring scripture passages, poetry and short stories, will create an atmosphere filled with hope, joy and light, coming together again in community to celebrate this wonderful festival. The Society is delighted to showcase the work of local authors and poets, as well as to host a special student submission, selected through a poetry competition for our local schools.
This special performance will take place on Sunday, December 19 at 6:30 p.m. at the Clearfield Presbyterian Church. The choir will collect non-perishable food to benefit Living Bread Ministries, as well as donations to the Choral Society, as we work to rebuild our own community. Your generosity and support are always appreciated.
Join them for a wonderful evening of spoken word and song. It’s time to kick off their Christmas celebration with a message of hope, joy, light and, above all, unity.
