Chelsea ace set to sign new contract before leaving on loan
Chelsea youngster Dujon Sterling is set to sign a new contract before leaving on loan for the season, according to Chelsea News.
The 21-year-old has been on loan from the Blues a few times, making just two senior appearances for the West London Giants in his entire career to date.
Still, Chelsea News suggests Sterling is in the club’s long-term plans as he looks to put pen to paper on a new deal ahead of his latest temporary move from Stamford Bridge.
It remains to be seen where Sterling might end up next, but he has had spells with Coventry City in League One and Wigan Athletic in the league before.
Chelsea would probably do well to loan Sterling to a Premier League club now if there are any suitors, as that would make sense as the next step in their development.
The England Under-20 international has gone through Chelsea academy, which continues to produce some of the best talent yet.
Mason Mount and Reece James have become key first-team players after advancing at the youth level with CFC, while Billy Gilmour appears to be another big talent to watch out for in the near future.
It remains to be seen if Sterling can replicate that success as well, but he is no doubt hoping to impress if he has another chance to come out on loan and play regularly.
