Career Center Inducts Honor Society | News, Sports, Jobs

The Career Center’s National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) recently held a new member induction for students selected to become members.

Seventy-three young men and women and their guests were invited to the reception.

The NTHS, formed in 1984, recognizes outstanding career and technical students for achievement in seven skill areas, including skills, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership. Locally, the Washington County Career Center has been honoring students for 29 years. This year, 43 new initiates were inducted at a May 5 ceremony at the Career Center.

The new inductees are:

≤ Emma Amrine is a junior from Waterford in the Sports Medicine and Exercise Science program, and she is the daughter of Andrew Amrine and Wendy Whealdon;

¯ Emma Bauerbach is a junior Marietta in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and is the daughter of David and Beth Bauerbach;

¯Taylor Bowers is a Junior Warren in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and he is the son of Ben Bowers and Mindy Bowers;

¯ Heidi Bricker is a Fort Frye junior in the Graphic Design and Video Production program, and she is the daughter of David and Sharon Bricker;

¯ Gavin Brooker is a Waterford junior in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and he is the son of Kevin and Stephanie Brooker;

¯ Braxton Brown is a Fort Frye junior in the sports medicine and exercise science program, and he is the son of Derek Brown and Ashlee Grubb;

¯ Owen Brown is a Fort Frye junior in the electrical program, and he is the son of Eric and Nicole Brown;

¯ Lyndsay Burwell is a Marietta Junior in the Digital Marketing Program, and she is the daughter of Matthew Burwell and Stacie Miller;

¯ Chesnie Caldwell is a Waterford junior in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and she is the daughter of James and Jayne Caldwell;

¯ Samuel Casto is a Fort Frye junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and he is the son of Michael and Kelly Casto;

¯ Emma Cline is a Waterford junior in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and she is the daughter of Dustin and Ashley Cline;

¯ Cierra Cook is a senior Frontier in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Robin Cook;

¯ Nicolas Diaz is a junior Belpre in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and he is the son of Michelle Perdue;

¯ Christopher Erb, II is a junior Marietta in the Heavy Equipment program, and is the son of Christopher Erb, I and Brenda Oliver;

¯ James Farley is a junior Marietta in the Building Technology/Carpentry program, and is the son of James Farley and Sara Roan;

¯ Austin Harrow is a Marietta senior in the automotive mechanics program, and he is the son of Melissa Harrow;

¯ Linsey Hendrickson is a junior Warren in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Jared and Denise Hendrickson;

¯ Emily Hoffman is a Waterford junior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Tim and Cheryl Hoffman;

¯ Elijah Johnson is a Fort Frye junior in the sports medicine and exercise science program, and he is the son of Candace Erb;

¯ Kaley Lemon is a Belpre junior in the Sports Medicine & Exercise Science program, and she is the daughter of Alan Lemon and Kerry Lemon;

¯ Katie Lowe is a junior from Waterford in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of Vikki Martin;

¯ Kolten McDougle is a junior from Waterford in the electrical program, and he is the son of James and Bria McDougle;

¯ Eric McPeek is a junior Warren in the Masonry program, and he is the son of Spencer and Alicia McPeek;

¯ Andrew Middleton is a Belpre junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and he is the son of Daniel Middleton and Kelly Powell;

¯ Meghan Nash is a junior of Warren in the Medical College Prep program, and she is the daughter of John and Victoria Nash;

¯ Grace Packer is a junior from Belpre in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Adrianne Packer;

¯ Carrissa Sprigg is a Belpre junior in the Graphic Design & Video Production program, and she is the daughter of Christopher and Stephanie Sprigg;

¯ MacKenzie Strawderman is a Belpre junior in the cosmetology program, and she is the daughter of Eric Strawderman and Jenny Maze;

¯ Landon Thompson is a senior Marietta in the Sports Medicine and Exercise Science program, and is the son of Clint and Brenda Thompson;

¯ Evan Vowls is a junior from Belpre in the Medical College Prep program, and he is the son of Spencer Vowls and Sherry Deeter and the grandson of Emily Vowls;

¯ Kody Ward is a Belpre junior in the Masonry program, and he is the son of Bryan Ward and Michelle Ward;

¯ Sadie Wentz is a Fort Frye junior in the Patient Health Care program, and she is the daughter of Rick Wentz and Rebecca Kern;

Career Center students are selected for membership based on their scholarship (3.8 Career Center GPA), teacher recommendations, and example of the seven ideals of competence, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship , citizenship and leadership. Many Washington County Career Center students over the years have served as members of both the Career Center Honor Society and their respective partner school’s honor society.
