Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland and Siouxland Humane Society team up for a fun night out with furry friends
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – It was a night of hot dogs and real dogs, as the Siouxland Humane Society and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland teamed up for some fun.
The groups organized a barbecue and games and got to know some of the animals.
Big Brothers Big Sisters leaders said it was a great way to spend quality time with others.
Big sister and board member Sara Friedrichsen said events like these are great for young and old.
“Not only is it great to spend time with my little one to continue building our relationship, but it’s great to see other big and small and to be able to talk to them to find out about other activities and just show them this. that we are doing here in the community. Just great to go out and enjoy an evening together, “said Friedrichsen.
Friedrichsen’s little sister Angela Seda said events like this help strengthen ties.
But the program itself helps children in the community, who need a little extra support or friendship.
“It has helped me a lot with my anxiety and all that. Because I get scared easily and I just haven’t been able to show myself. But now that I’ve met other people, this to me. help, ”Seda said.
Seda said she loved going out and talking with Friedrichsen, her older sister. The duo have been in a relationship for a few months.
